Miss Llewella Davies Pioneer Walkway
In 2016 Camden Council in conjunction with Camden Town Farm management committee was successful in being awarded a Metropolitan Greenspace grant to build the Llewella Davies Pioneer Walkway. The $702,000 walkway received $351,000 in funding through the Metropolitan Greenspace Program, with the rest funded by Council.
In Aug 2019, the walkway was officially opened by Camden Mayor Theresa Fedelli.
In May 2021, the Council was notified of the successful approval of its application to the Public Spaces Legacy Program (PSLP).
The $5.1 million granted by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment was used to enhance Camden's connection with the Nepean River. This funding supported the creation of a public walkway extending the existing Miss Llewella Davies Pioneer Walkway at Camden Town Farm, linking it to a new walkway at Fergusons Reserve Cricket Facility, and connecting with existing paths at the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park and Camden Town Centre.

The Miss Llewella Davies Pioneers Walkway, which covers riparian zones, pastoral, grazing and cropping paddocks, offers fantastic views of St Johns Church, the Chinese Washing Wells, the Nepean River and Macquarie House. Miss Llewella Davies was an energetic member of the Camden community, and this walkway is a key part of honoring her. It continues her legacy of community participation while maintaining its significant heritage value.
Patrons can choose from three different walking tracks, including:
- Elizabeth Street Farm Link, which is 1.3 kilometres long. This track may have short steep hill sections with rough surfaces and is not wheelchair accessible.
- Nepean River Link, which is 500 metres long. This track has a flat surface and is suitable for wheelchair users who have someone to assist.
- Macquarie Grove Link, which is 1800 metres long. This track has short steep hill sections with a boardwalk and concrete surfaces throughout.
- Matahill Creek Loop, which is 800 metres in length. This track also has a flat, even surface with no steps or steep sections and is suitable for wheelchair users with assistance; and
- Ferguson Land Link, which is 700 metres long. This track has a flat even surface with no steps or steep sections. Suitable for wheelchair users who have someone to assist.

Please note that the Miss Llewella Davies Pioneer Walkway is designated as Dog Free.
Dog’s aren’t allowed due to it being an operational farm. We have herds of cattle in the paddocks that adjoin the walkway and should a non-cattle savvy dog get off leash and harass the cattle the consequences for the cattle and/or the dog could be catastrophic.
Camden Town Farm is also home to lots of native wildlife who are at risk from any dogs that find their way onto the farm.
Dogs are not permitted on or off leash at any time.
Fines apply in accordance with section 632 Local Government Act 1993 and the Companion Animals Act 1998.
